Privacy policy
How Magnus Consultancy Ltd collects, uses and protects personal data when you use this website or contact us. Last updated 2 September 2026.
Who we are
Magnus Consultancy Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17273301. Registered office: [insert registered office address]. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at info@magnusconsultancy.com or on +44 7901 793419.
What we collect
- Enquiry form: your name, email address, company name, the option you select and the message you write.
- Email and telephone: the details you give us when you contact us directly, and the content of our correspondence.
- Engagement records: where you become a client, the information needed to deliver the services, including identity and company documents required by law for company formation and compliance work.
- Technical data: our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and operation of the site.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To deliver services under an engagement: performance of a contract with you, and compliance with legal obligations such as money laundering checks and statutory filings.
- To keep the website secure and available: our legitimate interest in operating the site safely.
- We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
- Netlify, which hosts this website and processes form submissions on our behalf. Netlify may store data in the United States; transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Our email provider, for correspondence with you.
- Professional advisers we engage on your behalf under an engagement, such as lawyers, accountants, regulated immigration advisers and banks, and public authorities such as Companies House and HMRC where a filing requires it. We tell you before any such sharing takes place.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 12 months of our last contact. Client records are kept for six years after the end of the engagement, which is the period required for tax, company law and money laundering record keeping, and are then deleted or anonymised.
Cookies and local storage
This website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It stores one preference in your browser's local storage, your chosen language, so the site remembers it on your next visit. That is strictly necessary for the function you requested and is not shared with anyone. If we add analytics in future, we will use a tool that does not track individuals or we will ask for your consent first.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to provide a copy of your personal data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, and to transfer it to another provider. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email info@magnusconsultancy.com. We respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
